Candi Cangkuang (Cangkuang Temple) – Hidden Temple in Garut

There are not many people familiar about this Temple. Candi Cangkuang (Cangkuang Temple) is estimated to have been established since 8th century . This temple is the only one Hindu’s temple in West Java.

Candi Cangkuang (Cangkuang Temple) is located in Cangkuang Village, Garut, west Java, Indonesia. It takes 200km from Jakarta. This temple surrounded by four mountians in West Java, and contained in small island in the middle of Cangkuang Lake. We have to cross the lake by small traditional boat made from bamboo to get there.

Candi Cangkuang (Cangkuang Temple) is single temple made from andesite stones. Inside the main room of the temple, there are a stone statue of Shiva. Nowdays, Candi Cangkuang (CangkuangTemple) still visited by Hindu people to pray.
