Tanjung Puting National Park located in the District of Kumai, West side of Kotawaringin with capital in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan.

This National Park has several ecosystem types, namely lowland tropical forests, dryland forest, freshwater swamp forest, peat swamp, coastal forest, and mangrove forests.
There are a wide variety of objects that can be visited in Tanjung Puting National Park Borneo, among others:

Tanjung Harapan

Many activities that traveler can do in the Tanjung Harapan, such feeding Orangutan, learn and planting Orchids and medicinal plants, Trekking (Tj. Hope – Pesalat – Pondok Tanggui)

Pesalat

In Pesalat there is line trekking, camping ground, planting a memory tree.

Camp Tanggui

Pondok Ambung

Camp Leakey

Sungai Buluh Besar

Sungai Arut Tebal,

Sungai Arut Tebal are the marine area of Tanjung Puting National Park Resort, in this place, there’s a natural white sand beach, turtle breeding.

Seven of them are well-known primates and protected as orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus), proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus), Borneo gibbon (Hylobates agilis) and bears (Helarctos malayanus). The types of large mammals such as deer, sambar, barking deer muncak (Indian muntjac), lesser mouse deer (Tragulus javanicus), and beard pig (Sus barbatus) can be found in the region. In fact, some types of aquatic mammals such as dugongs (Dugong dugong) and dolphins are reported to have been seen in the waters around the area TNTP.

How to Get There

To get to Pangkalan Bun there are a number of ways;

  • flight from Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang by Air Kalstar and Trigana landed to Iskandar Airports, Pangkalan Bun  .
  • from Banjarmasin can take the bus directly to Pangkalan Bun, buses depart early from Banjarmasin to Palangkaraya starting at 4 o’clock in the morning, and continue to pangkalan bun in the afternoon or morning at 7am.
    There are several PO buses serving the route Palangkaraya-Pangkalan Bun such as PO Yessoe and Logos, there is a large selection of executive buses with around Rp. 120,000 and the economy at a rate of less than Rp. 90,000.
  • Of Pangkalan Bun towards Kumai can take a taxi (about Rp. 160,000), Ojeks (Rp. 25000-40000) and public transportation (Rp. 5,000).
